About Dana
I am one of five children, and I knew I wanted to work with children when I was 11 years old. From a young age, I felt deeply connected to the creativity, honesty, curiosity, and natural wonder children carry. That early sense of calling has guided my entire path in education.
I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education and later completed my Master’s in Early Childhood Waldorf Education at Sunbridge College. Through years of study and hands-on classroom experience, I developed a deep appreciation for rhythm, connection, and learning through play and nature. I believe children thrive in environments that feel warm, predictable, and filled with meaningful relationships.
Becoming a mother of four expanded and deepened everything I had learned. Parenting showed me, in a very real way, how important support, community, and gentle structure are for families. Creating healthy rhythms and rituals became central in my home life, and those same values now live at the heart of Little Tree.
In addition to my background in early childhood education, I have studied yoga and Reiki, which support my holistic approach to working with children and families. I love supporting parents with rhythms, routines, and practical guidance that helps create more ease and connection at home. My intention is always to care for the whole child and to honor and support the whole family.
Little Tree is envisioned as more than a childcare program. It is a community of support, a place where families feel welcomed, seen, and connected. As the program grows, I hope to thoughtfully expand opportunities for parent gatherings, workshops, and community events that strengthen relationships and create shared experiences. My vision is to cultivate a space where families can build friendships and feel part of something rooted, steady, and lasting.
Our yard includes a Japanese maple tree, a symbol of peace, balance, and calm reflecting the grounded and nurturing spirit of Little Tree.
With over 35 years of experience in education, my approach is heart-centered, collaborative, and rooted in respect for childhood. Little Tree was created to preserve the magic of childhood while offering strong roots for children and meaningful support for families.
